What to Look For in Formigal Webcams Before You Go

  • Is the A-136 white? Check the Sallent de Gállego camera first, then the Formigal one. If there's snow on the road, the DGT may require chains.
  • Is it clear in all sectors? Compare Anayet, Cantal, Pico Royo and Garmet. If one has fog or snow blowing and another doesn't, you know which area to head to.
  • Did it snow overnight? Rewind the Feratel video: dull snow without tracks in the morning is fresh snow. Shiny and smooth means hard or frozen snow.
  • What about Panticosa? Formigal and Panticosa form the Formigal-Panticosa domain under Aramón group. If you want to compare, check the Panticosa webcam.

When to Check the Webcams

Check the cameras the afternoon before and rewind the last few hours to see if it snowed during the day. In the morning, as soon as it's light, review first the A-136 at Sallent and Formigal, then the four slope cameras.

Getting to Formigal: The A-136, Sallent and Portalet

Formigal is in the Tena valley (Huesca). You drive up the A-136, which passes Sallent de Gállego and continues toward Portalet; the two DGT cameras on this page are on that road. If you search "Portalet webcam" to see the road, these are the closest: they show you how the asphalt is at Sallent and Formigal, before the pass.

With snow, the DGT may require chains on the A-136: check dgt.es or call 011 before you leave. If it's your first time, you have the route explained in how to get to Formigal.
